Surgery Update
Billy was discharged from University Medical Center on Tuesday, September 15, 2024. I had gone to the hospital later than usual. I had a deadline to meet for work and wanted to make sure things were squared away before I left the camper. I had it in mind to ask why Billy had been in the hospital longer than expected. A nurse came into the room to take Billy’s vitals. She didn’t know anything about his discharge. About half an hour a later, gal from Respiratory came to suction out the mucous from Billy’s chest (a common occurrence). She didn’t know.
After about another 15 minutes another pair of who I thought were nurses came in started taking his monitors off.
“Where are you taking him now? A CT scan?”
“Nope. He’s being discharged.
ALLEUIA
He looked great! His color looked good, his cheeks were rosey, his eyes were open and we visited for a long time.
A few days later, Dave and I had a bit of a vacation in NJ, so we had not seen him in almost a week. Today he would not wake up for us. He is back on the trache tube.
