Catching Up
NOV 13
Dave and I spent the last few days at home in Florida. Today is the first day I’ve seen Billy in over a week. I really wasn’t expecting any big changes. His condition has been the same since the surgery to replace the skull plate…not much action. He’s either awake, or having a coughing fit trying to clear his throat.
I talked to him, prayed with. I decided it was time to leave and reached for his hand braces. They help his fingers straight. He hates them. We usually get some action from him when we put them on.
As I took his forearm to put it inch brace I got a looked his nails I switched gears. They are so friggin’ long! I grabbed my nail clippers.
I was standing beside him, so I could not see his face, but as soon as I put the slightest pressure on the clipper, I heard a loud “NO!” As he pulled his arm away
Okay, Billy. You win today.
Wound Care Update
If you remember the last time I reported about the wound on his sacrum it was the size of my fist. Miss Addie reported that is more of a crescent shape and a lot of new skin growth. They will continue with the current treatment plan.
There is progress after all. My hope is that once that wound clears up, more of that healing energy can go toward the secretions.
No further progress on moving him closer to home yet.
