Miss Addy
Miss Addy is Billy’s Wound Care Nurse. She is a pretty brunette in her late 30’s (maybe). I have spoken to Miss Addy every week since Billy has been at Ferncrest. She will call every week with updates on his wounds in detail. All of his wounds have healed except the one at his sacrum (tail bone). While on a recent call she let me know that if I ever wanted to see the would all I had todo was ask. She made the offer many times before. The next day when I went to visit I saw Miss Addy in the hall and let her know that I wanted to be in the room when they assess, clean and dress the wound.
The wound is about the size of my fist. I gasped at the size of it, but it had so many different shades of pink. “All signs of healing!” Miss Addy told me.
I pray that his insides are healing just as well.
That was also the 4th day in a row (maybe a few days longer) that his traech had been capped. In that situation a patient is breathing on his own. The treach has not been removed. They literally close the hole with looks like a cap from a water bottle. This situation could revert at any time, so we simply celebrate the present
